This is acrylic on the back of a small slab of granite counter top. I liked the texture of the stone, and figured that a Medusa would be appropriate.

Do not enter my cave, do not look upon my face. Athena hath cursed my beauty and allowed me not into the light of the south. Less you be tuned to stone, do not look upon my face, I beg you. Once the beautiful daughter of the earth and ocean, now a hideous creature of the darkness....

I like the pattern created by the snake coils, and the texture of the stone adds depth to the snake scales. Really nice piece. :D

The stone is really nice to paint on, I found a whole bunch of it, so I am going to do a few more on the stone.
